Christmas In February

I purchased the cactus two years ago. It was not in bloom then and has never bloomed since; until now. I purchased the plant because it looked so healthy and I just knew it would produce lovely blooms. I have been caring for the thing all this time; disappointed that I'd not seen the first bloom. This is what I found when I awoke two days ago! My heart lept for joy.

My mom always had lovely Christmas cactus. My sister has one too. I wanted one.

So, I read about propagating one from another plant. It seemed easy enough to do because the directions said that these plants are hard to kill and easy to propagate. I proved those directions wrong even though I took great care of it.

Your plant is making me jealous.

I am amazed it came through for me. I think I have only used plant food for it once. I needed the bit of joy this week for sure.
